DC Fly-In – Support Your Company and Industry!
Have a problem finding skilled help or documented workers? Tax policies hindering planning and investment? Energy costs soaring?
Be Part of the Solution as the Textile Services Industry Flocks to TRSA’s Washington Fly-In – June 23– 24
You can help make a difference by educating federal officials and lawmakers on how what they do affects your operations and your ability to offer good jobs! You also can let them know how what you do helps to improve the environment.
Even if you have never met with a senator, representative or agency official, the 2008 TRSA Fly-In is for you. We’ll mainly meet in groups, but stand ready to assist in arranging appointments with specific congressional offices.
We’ll begin with tips from expert public affairs professionals and updates on legislative and regulatory issues that are important to the textile service industry. Armed with knowledge and the confidence to explain what you do every day and how federal policies can help or hinder your contribution to the local economy, you and your fellow TRSA members will meet with high-ranking officials. Among these will be chairmen/women, members and senior staff of congressional committees with jurisdiction over issues important to TRSA. These include small business, plant safety, skilled workforce, immigration, labor relations, healthcare, taxes, energy and the environment.
While this year’s presidential races have generated a lot of interest and attention, all House districts and the seats of one-third of the Senate will be up for grabs in the fall elections. Combined with the presidential race, this election poll provides an opportunity – for good and for mischief – as the leadership of each party charts courses for legislative priorities and strategies. Don’t miss out. Make sure that the industry's voice is heard!
All textile rental service industry companies are invited to participate. There is no registration fee for TRSA members. There will be a $99 charge for non-TRSA registrants. To register, please visit www.trsa.org/2008flyin.
The host hotel is the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. TRSA has negotiated a discounted group rate of $225/night plus tax. To reserve your room, call the Hyatt Regency directly at 202/737-1234 and mention the TRSA meeting.
Watch for important updates as the Government Affairs Committee firms up speakers and meeting details. Call TRSA Government Affairs Director Larry Fineran at 877/770-9274 or lfineran@trsa.org, if you have any questions or need additional information.
