Recent high-profile closures of several Atlantic City casinos have affected businesses in that city, as well as nearby towns, according to local media reports.

In nearby Pleasantville, NJ, more than 500 residents are out of a job due to the shuttering of Showboat, Revel and Trump Plaza. Atlantic City Mayor Jesse Tweedle said that he’s concerned about the future of Atlantic City Linen Supply (ACLS), one of Pleasantville’s largest employers, according to the report.

“With the advent of these casinos closing, their work is going to decrease,” Tweedle said.

In addition to the effect the closures are having on workers in Pleasantville, a total of 800 employees in Egg Harbor Township are likely to be directly affected, according to the report.
