Alsco & Cintas Earn VA County Enviro Awards

Alsco Inc. and Cintas Corp recently were recognized for their excellence in environmental stewardship by Virginia’s Chesterfield County Utilities Department.

Cintas took the Gold Award for achieving exemplary compliance with all pretreatment requirements and for having no violations or warnings during the year.

Alsco Inc. received the Most Improved Industry Award for installing a state-of-the-art pretreatment system that enabled them to meet their permit requirements and improve their effluent quality. Cintas Corp. also received the Exemplary Pollution Prevention Award in recognition of its efforts to reuse and recycle garments and sludge-quality improvements.

The county ceremony took place on Oct. 1 at the 20th Annual Pretreatment meeting. Eric Reed accepted the award for Alsco; Clint Sinkway accepted on behalf of Cintas. Chesterfield County presented a total of 26 awards to a wide range of local industries for their contributions to environmental protection.
