Cintas Corp., Mason, OH, recently co-sponsored Leading Cincinnati; Push Yourself/Pull Others, along with GE, Fifth/Third, EY (Ernst & Young), Agenda 360 and the Women’s Fund. This July 18 event at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati was designed to empower women at all stages of their careers, according to an online news report. Specifically, the program focused on promoting the success of female business leaders, and engaging the next generation. In all, nearly 300 Tri-State-area business leaders joined in discussions around future opportunities and partnerships.

Keynote speaker Andrea Ayers, president and CEO of Convergys, offered an inspirational in-depth look at her journey to become only the 37th female CEO of a Fortune 1000 company to date. She highlighted the importance of will and determination in order to overcome inevitable obstacles that appear throughout your career.

“It’s important to recognize and reward excellence,” said Todd Schneider, VP and COO of the Cintas Rental Division and a member of the Cintas Women’s Business Resource Group (WAVE). “When people do well, they should know it and it should be celebrated and rewarded.” WAVE has worked over the past year to lay the groundwork for the group to begin creating strategic mentorships both at Cintas and in the business community.

Later this year, TRSA will sponsor another program that shines a light on empowering women. On Dec. 4, the association will host a Women In Textile Services CEO/Executive Roundtable program in Tampa, FL. The roundtable will take place at the Embassy Suites – USF/Near Busch Gardens. Those who are interested in attending, or who would like more information, should contact TRSA’s Manager of Education Kristin Bowling at kbowling@trsa.org.
