Cintas Corp. recently announced that its uniform rental facility in Fayetteville, NC, received Carolina Star certification from the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration (NC-OSHA). The Carolina Star is NC-OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health, according to a news release.

“I am very proud of our Fayetteville location partners achieving the prestigious Carolina Star award,” said Scott Wolfe, group vice president of the Cintas Mid-South Group. “The requirements for achieving this designation are more stringent than the federal VPP program and our Fayetteville location is the third North Carolina Cintas facility to achieve this award. The whole Fayetteville team made this achievement happen with every employee-partner taking full responsibility for the safety and well-being of one another.”

The Fayetteville facility first began working toward Carolina Star certification nearly three years ago. “The culture we have at our location is one of family and making sure that we can take care of each other every day,” said Rodney Tillotson, branch manager of the Fayetteville location. “We’ve had applicants tell us in interviews that they were seeking employment with us because they heard of our workplace safety best practices.”

Cintas’ Fayetteville facility is one of 26 Cintas’ locations in the United States to receive the OSHA Star designation since 2011. Cintas has approximately 330 facilities worldwide actively pursuing safety recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body, the release said. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Honduras.
