Cintas Launches Advanced High-Traction Mat

Cintas Corp., Mason, OH, recently announced a new floor mat that has the highest traction rating ever documented by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), according to a news release.

The Cintas Traffic™ Mat produces high traction from its heavy-weight backing with tire-grip technology in order to reduce movement in heavily trafficked areas like hospitals or hotels.

“For more than 15 years, the NFSI has researched testing for slip resistance in order to develop its current, comprehensive evaluation process,” said NSFI president Russell Kendzior. “Mats certified as high traction offer greater slip resistance to meet safety regulations.”

The ANSI/NFSI B101.6-2012 “Standard Guide For Commercial Entrance Matting In Reducing Slips, Trips And Falls” recommends that mats have a “high-traction backing” in order to reduce movement, which can lead to issues such as buckling and curling.
