Dickies Acquires UK Workwear Company

Dickies, Fort Worth, TX, recently purchased North East Rig Out Ltd. (NERO), an Aberdeen, UK-based workwear manufacturer specializing in the oil and gas industry. The acquisition was completed on July 18 by Williamson-Dickie’s European division, according to a news release.

“Williamson-Dickie has been a part of the global oil and gas industry for decades, and this acquisition makes us even more competitive in the European market,” said Dickies Chairman and CEO Philip Williamson. “I’m excited to add NERO to the stable of workwear solutions offered by WD to workers around the world.”

Established in 1995, NERO also is a head-to-toe personal protective equipment (PPE) solutions provider, the release said. NERO’s local manufacturing resources and in-house value-added services, including design, embroidery and screen printing, provide a full-service solution for Aberdeen-based petroleum customers.

“WD Europe has strategically and methodically added to its workwear offerings over the years, particularly in the oil and gas industry,” said Kirk Ehrlich, president of WD Europe. “NERO’s products and services function in tandem with and will incorporate logically into our existing assets. This is an important step in building a more complete workwear solution in the market.”
