Four TRSA Members Make ‘Most Admired’ List

Fortune Magazine recently announced its list of the “2017 World’s Most Admired Companies.” This year’s list includes TRSA operator and associate members Aramark and Ecolab, Sodexo, VF Corp and 3M, according to news reports and a news release from Ecolab.

The latter company is making its third consecutive appearance on the list, which is determined through surveys of 1,000 of the largest U.S. companies based on revenue, as well as international companies in Fortune’s Global 500 database with revenues of $10 billion or more. That number of companies was reduced to 680 enterprises in 28 countries based on revenue. Executives in those companies voted for the most admired businesses for the list. A consulting firm, Korn Ferry Hay Group then determined the best companies in 51 business categories by asking executives, directors and analysts to rate enterprises based on nine criteria. These ranged from investment value and quality of management to social responsibility and employee-recruiting capabilities. A company’s score must rank in the top half of the total to be listed, the reports said.

3M Co. earned a 23d ranking in a top 50 list that Korn Ferry determined by having 3,800 executives, directors and securities analysts who’d responded to surveys to select the 10 companies they admired the most.

Ecolab scored third overall in the chemicals category, as well as first for social responsibility and second for innovation, quality of products and services, people management, quality of management and long-term investment value.
