In an effort to both encourage outstanding initiatives by TRSA members in a variety of areas – and to recognize their efforts – TRSA is unveiling five new awards. At least one of these awards, and perhaps more (detailed below), will pique the interest of every operator member.

See below for summaries of these new awards. Winning honors in one or more of these areas can boost staff morale, while generating recognition from peers, customers and local communities. The new awards, summarized below, include:

Above and Beyond Service Awards

TRSA is relaunching this award to recognize those staff members, including route service reps and others, who exceed the levels of good service and set a higher standard for others to follow.

Criteria for Consideration:

This award can go to an individual service rep, a team of service people, or to a company. Entrants should tell TRSA why your candidate has earned an Above and Beyond Service Award. These summaries can include descriptions of:

Extra steps a route rep or team have taken to help customers on a daily basis, including times of severe weather or other emergencies, such as a power outage.

New technology that a service team or company has implemented that’s had a measurable and significant impact on improved customer satisfaction.

Outstanding records in terms of customer surveys and/or customer-retention rates.

Training programs or other initiatives that have had a demonstrated positive impact on customer service as reflected in surveys or other metrics.

Company Community Service Award

TRSA developed this annual Community Service Award to honor a company that has demonstrated their generosity by sharing their time and talents for the benefit of others in their community. Those seeking this award should tell TRSA:

  • The degree to which the company’s service/actions have had a meaningful impact on their community
  • The length and degree of service
  • The degree to which the service inspires others and acts as a role model

Creative Certification Promotion Award

This award recognizes companies for highlighting their certification(s) through various creative means, such as business cards, websites, vehicles, brochures, stationery and other customer-oriented communications. To qualify for this award:

  • Companies, individual laundry facilities and individuals (Certified Professional Laundry Manager [CPLM]) must be certified in good standing for Clean Green, Hygienically Clean and/or CPLM
  • Promotional items submitted must meet the TRSA logo-usage guidelines

TRSA Diversity Recognition Award

This award tells the story of an individual or company that has encouraged efforts to increase diversity in the linen, uniform and facility services industry. Criteria for this award includes:

Providing descriptions of initiatives and programs that have fostered enhanced diversity, along with documented results.

Fleet Promotion Award

This award recognizes outstanding efforts by companies in their use of vehicles to promote their businesses and services. Entrants must include three photos of their truck for consideration. Criteria for this award include:

  • Membership in TRSA
  • Offer information on the process of developing the fleet-promotional design and brand promise/message that you’re communicating
  • The number of vehicles in you fleet

Entrants or those who’d like to know more about any of these award programs should click here for details. Entrants, or those nominating an individual or company for any one of these awards, must complete a brief online application form on the TRSA website.

TRSA will announce winners of these awards and others – including the Operator Lifetime Achievement Award – at the association’s Annual Meeting on Sept. 12-14 in Miami.
