TRSA associate member JENSEN USA Inc. recently announced that its main facility in Panama City, FL, is still standing, albeit with some roof damage, in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael making landfall in the Florida panhandle on Oct. 10. The company’s parts and machine warehouse survived the storm relatively unscathed. JENSEN USA has set up a temporary switchboard number at 850.320.7860 that its customers can call to receive parts and service assistance, according to a news release.

However, cellular and internet service is still down in the wake of the storm, and the electrical power near the facility is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. Panama City has been closed to all but first responders and individuals that have business in town.

JENSEN USA had a disaster plan in place and implemented it immediately, the release noted. The company took the following steps:

  • Immediately started locating all employees and their families.
  • Began working to get the company’s parts and service departments operational as quickly as possible.
  • Made an announcement to the industry that the company’s parts and service departments are up and running.
  • Distributed a temporary main switchboard number customers can call to receive parts and service assistance. Call 850.320.7860 and follow the prompts to reach the desired department.
  • In the meantime, customers can place spare parts orders via the company’s website at jensenusa.com.
  • Put generators in place for both buildings by Tuesday morning, Oct. 16.
  • The company plans to have temporary office buildings in place by Wednesday or Thursday, Oct. 17 or 18.

The release said that, “The process of getting back to normal will take some time. Even though we will make every effort to reduce disruption, we kindly ask you for your patience during what will inevitably be a difficult time for JENSEN USA, but together, we will persevere. Finally, the messages of support from our customers, suppliers, sister companies and competitors have been truly humbling. We would like to thank you all sincerely for making a terrible week(s) just a little bit less terrible.”
