Milliken Wins Innovation Award

Milliken & Co., Spartanburg, SC, recently announced that it received recognition by Future Materials magazine as the “Most Innovative Large Size Company.” Future Materials is an international technical textiles magazine published by the World Textile Information Network (WTiN). The Future Materials awards recognize innovation, achievement and leadership throughout the technical textile industry, according to a news release.

“At Milliken, we challenge ourselves to establish expectations of quality and innovation never before achieved,” said Joe Salley, president and CEO of Milliken & Co. “As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, this award demonstrates our continuous commitment to develop innovations that ‘do good’ – for our industry, for our customers and for the world we share.”

Milliken manufactures textiles for a variety of industrial markets including workwear, automotive, building and infrastructure, reinforcements, and filtration products. Innovations include flame-resistant (FR) fabrics that help save the lives of industrial workers and military personnel, technologies that reduce the weight of automobiles to help reduce fuel consumption and emissions, and floor coverings constructed with 100% recycled fibers.
