Cintas Corp., Mason, OH, recently held its annual Management Trainee Summit on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, according to news reports.

The choice of the campus was a new venue for the Jan 26-27 program, which drew roughly 25 Cintas managers for training sessions with company executives, including Todd Schneider, COO of the Rental Division. Another 75-100 students and faculty from the university, which has placed more than 100 graduates in management jobs with Cintas, also attended the program. University officials were delighted to have Cintas provide “real-world” business education on their campus.

“What a terrific opportunity for our students, faculty and business leaders in the community to learn more about a company of this stature,” said Professor Bret Becton, who is associate dean in the College of Business. “The Cintas officials on hand certainly benefited from spending so much time on campus, touring our facilities and getting to know our students better.”

Schneider returned the compliment, saying Cintas was pleased to hold its meetings in such as congenial atmosphere. “The students and faculty at Southern Miss are very fortunate to have such a magnificent facility like this in which to learn and grow,” said Schneider, who also serves on TRSA’s board of directors. “We work closely with business schools across the country in an effort to find the brightest talent available for our company, and we have enjoyed tremendous success employing Southern Miss graduates.”

At the conclusion of the program, Cintas officials led the students and others in a campus clean-up effort as a further gesture of thanks to the university. The group picked up trash and litter scattered around the campus. Click here and here to learn more.
