TRSA Asks UTSA to Extend the Date of Consolidation

TRSA’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved a motion asking UTSA to extend the date of the consolidation of the two associations from Jan. 1, 2006, until Jan. 1, 2007.

Citing the fact that the two associations have still not resolved major operational issues, TRSA recommended that the two associations maintain their separate operations in 2006 and jointly hire a senior-level association executive to develop a plan for integrating the operations of the two associations.

The association executive would be directed to complete the integration plan in six months. TRSA has recommended that each association appoint three persons to serve on a joint association advisory committee to assist in the development of the integration plan.

TRSA hopes that UTSA will agree to this proposal and that the two associations will continue cooperating in 2006.
