Quality Linen, Dover, DE, is planning to triple its capacity and add as many as 50 jobs at its new facility in Salisbury, MD, according to news reports. The commercial laundry services both healthcare and hospitality clients, according to the report.

Dicky Smith, owner of Quality Linen Service, bought the company last year with a $2.3 million initial investment. Smith said he has since invested an additional $3 million in the business and purchased the property at the Westwood Commerce Park in Salisbury, the site of the new plant, for $1 million. The building expansion will cost an additional $1 million and new equipment will cost $2.5 million, the report said.

The company currently has 40 employees and Smith said he expects to add between 25 and 50 more, depending on how much growth there is. Smith said he hopes to eat into some of Quality Linen’s biggest competition, which comes from outside the area, including a service north of Dover, and another in Richmond, VA, the report said.
