Restaurant Sales Outlook Brightens
A recent National Restaurant Association (NRA) report recorded a sharp increase that could bode well for improved restaurant sales.
The NRA’s Restaurant Performance Index (RPI), a monthly composite index that tracks the health and outlook of the U.S. restaurant industry, recorded a score of 102.2 in December 2011. That’s up 1.6% from November. The RPI is now at its highest level in six years.
What’s more, December’s reading was the third time in the last four months that the RPI stood at more than 100. This signals expansion in the index of key industry indicators.
