A restaurant owner in South Bend, IN, recently pleaded guilty to a pair of felonies, according to local media reports. As part of the agreement, the restaurateur will have to settle his debts with a local textile services company.

Chris Kohut, owner of the now-defunct Passport Woodfire Grill, was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay restitution to two businesses through the plea deal. Kohut was charged on July 10, 2013, with forgery and theft, both felony charges. The former restaurant owner pled guilty to the theft charge and the forgery charge was dropped. Per the terms of the deal, Kohut must also pay $2,400 to Signs Unlimited and $1,408.01 to Monarch Textile Rental Services, the article said.

Monarch Textile Rental Services had provided the Woodfire Grill with roughly $12,500 worth of goods, including storage lockers and linens. The company was able to reclaim the linens but found the storage lockers for sale on Craigslist, the report said.
