TRSA operator member Servall Uniform & Linen Supply, Rapid City, SD, is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016. The company recently was profiled in a local newspaper in honor of this milestone.

The family owned company is in its fourth generation of leadership under President and CEO Brad Dudley, who returned to the family business in 1992 after working as a certified public accountant in Portland, OR, for roughly 20 years. Dudley has a daughter, Tori, and a son, Chase, who could potentially take over the business as the fifth generation of family ownership.

While his daughter works in the hospitality industry and hasn’t indicated an interest in returning to the family business yet, his son has expressed interest, the article noted. “He has to determine if he has a passion for another industry or for this industry,” Brad said. “After three years, we’ll see. My hopes and dreams are yes, we’ll see a fifth generation here in Rapid City.”

Brad attributed Servall’s success to its founder’s vision for a strong local business, the article said. “Then it’s really been up to the third and fourth generations to carry on that vision,” Brad said. “We’re proud to do so and it’s part of our heritage.” Servall’s independently managed sister company, Appeara, based in Norfolk, NE, also is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
