Two TRSA Operators Win Enviro Awards

Service Linen Supply and U.S. Linen & Uniform recognized for eco-friendly operations

Service Linen Supply Inc., Renton, WA, and U.S. Linen & Uniform, Richland, WA, recently received recognition for their environmental leadership when both companies won the Association of Washington Businesses (AWB) 2012 Environmental Excellence Award. The two textile services companies won in the category titled “Resource Conservation and Pollution Prevention.” The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA, on June 12.

“This is a huge honor for Service Linen Supply and we’re thrilled to have received this statewide recognition from the AWB,” said Service Linen Supply owners Robert Raphael and David Jassny. “Environmental stewardship is a top priority for us and we’re grateful to receive this recognition for our team’s efforts.”

Rick Snyder, U.S. Linen & Uniform owner and general manager, said that, “We are honored to have received this prestigious statewide award from the AWB and to share it with another independent, Service Linen Supply of Renton. Our entire industry is based on reusing textiles and reducing solid waste. Now our industry has focused on becoming even more environmentally responsible and is actively reducing water and waste in the water. We are committed to being environmentally responsible and we are grateful to receive this recognition for our team’s efforts.”

The AWB’s Environmental Excellence Awards Program is a showcase for companies that successfully implemented programs that demonstrate initiative in the area of environmental protection. In its 20th year, the program focuses on actions that create a better environment, products that help environmental quality and actions to prevent or reduce environmental problems as well as conserve resources.

Service Linen Supply and U.S. Linen & Uniform are both Clean Green certified by TRSA. This new certification program recognizes textile services companies that demonstrate responsible leadership in sustainability and conservation to protect the environment.
