Industries Our Industry Serves

Businesses are focusing on their core operations, relying more and more on textile services companies to provide cost-effective, environmentally conscious reusable alternatives to positively impact employee morale, increase safety and improve hygiene

Wherever a business soils clothing, towels or linens with even the slightest opportunity of contamination, our industry usually has a good customer. Businesses contract with textile services companies for our knowledge and expertise in properly cleaning reusable products including the optimal washing time, chemistry and water fill and temperature levels to produce wrinkle-free quality and sanitation. All of our products, but particularly fashionable linens and garments, help our customers build a positive image and brand.

Industrial

We classify all other businesses that use our services as industrial.” Most of these customers primarily purchase uniform rental services from our industry to save their people from using personal clothes at work and ensure their staff’s clothing offers a consistent look that their customers appreciate. Traditional industrial users of textile services are motivated to rent uniforms for cleanliness as their workers’ clothes are vulnerable to stains from petroleum and other chemicals. In decades past this was the case for our most significant industrial markets such as manufacturing and automotive-related businesses. Now these industries have cleaner processes and the image- and identity-building benefits of uniform rental are as important to them as they are to our light-soil industrial customers such as trade contractors, wholesalers, warehousing and trucking, and retailers. Still other textile service customers such as food processors and electronics manufacturers are most concerned about protecting their products from contaminants and require specialized garments adhering to very high cleanliness standards. Our industrial customers also tend to be the heaviest users of our dust control services, deploying our floor mats, wiping towels, mops and other textiles to keep their workplaces and production clean.

Healthcare

While management and staff of thousands of hospitals spend their busy workdays caring for patients and otherwise operating their facilities they leave their linen laundry to textile services professionals who handle this task off-site. This work includes washing, drying and finishing bed linens, garments worn by staff and patients and sheets and towels used throughout the facility. Year after year when Modern Healthcare magazine asks facility administrators what types of work they use contractors for, laundry is mentioned most often. Such outsourcing enables hospitals to dedicate floor space that might otherwise be used for washing and drying to some other purpose. Outsourcing to a textile rental laundry also saves the hospital’s money because as laundry specialists our industry washes more efficiently and manages linen inventory more effectively than the facility’s management could. Hundreds of thousands of medical practices and other ambulatory care facilities are also users of our services, removing the need for their staffs to buy and wash their work clothing personally. In addition, instead of paper disposables, such a facility can use more environmentally friendly cloth patient gowns, exam table covers and other textile items. Healthcare is a huge growth area for commercial textile services; we estimate that our industry’s sales volume in this market has at least doubled in the last five years.

Hospitality

Fine-dining restaurants use the broadest range of textile services in this market because our cloth tablecloths and napkins serve their guests and maintain an upscale atmosphere in their dining rooms. Even mid-priced restaurants benefit from table linen as a TRSA study found that these facilities’ purchasing managers are convinced their customers prefer cloth napkins over paper and that linen has a positive impact on business image. Beyond the dining room, every type of eating place requires garments and towels for kitchen staff.Tens of thousands of casual and quick service restaurants turn to our business to print their logos on customized floor mats that trap dirt from diners’ shoes and add ambience. Textile rental laundries also supply bed linens to hotels providing the same benefits and efficiencies as delivered to hospitals (see above).
