Based on the core production aspects of TRSA’s Roger F. Cocivera Production Management Institute (PMI), the Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM) professional development program accelerates learning by combining traditional classroom instruction with web-based training to provide 150+ hours of continuous management and production study.
The CPLM PMI program begins with PMI-Production, five days of interactive classroom training on fundamental laundry production and operations, such as soil sort, wash aisle and finishing. During the next 12 months, students participate in a series of self-paced, online modules on important management topics such as communications, finance and leadership. The program concludes with PMI-Management, four days of interactive sessions that further refine participants’ production and laundry-specific management skills. Upon completion of the classroom and online training, students are tested and can earn the CPLM, the baseline of knowledge for all graduates.
Continuous Learning
After finishing the program, all certified professionals must participate in ongoing professional development to maintain their CPLM designation.
The CPLM program combines the strength of TRSA’s industry-specific operations and management knowledge with leading management experts to create a comprehensive learning experience.
In addition, the emphasis on focused learning, both classroom and online, minimizes time away from plants and reduces travel costs while reducing the time from learning to implementation. The CPLM certification delivers immediate, long-term returns based on improved operations and management performance.
Who Should Participate in CPLM & PMI
The CPLM PMI professional development program encourages continuous learning and improvement for:
- Senior Business and Operational Management
- General Managers
- Production/Plant Managers
- Supervisors
- Engineers
- Industry Associates
The learning continues outside these formal and semiformal settings as well. Many students have said that the greatest value they obtain from the program is peer networking, not only during the PMI sessions, but sometimes years later. PMI alumni regularly exchange information or help each other solve problems in their plants long after they graduate from the program. For all these reasons and more, PMI is an investment in both the short and long-term success of your management staff, and by extension, your business itself.
