Hurricane Harvey left between 25% and 30% of Harris County – home to 4.5 million people in Houston and its near suburbs – flooded by the third day of the storm, according to an estimate from a meteorologist with the county flood control district. The torrential rain left homes flooded to their second floors and power lines under water. As images of Houston’s flooding by as much as 50 inches of rain shocked the nation, efforts to help came together quickly. TRSA operator member Paris Cos. did its part by working with the Greater Johnstown (PA) Convention & Visitors Bureau in the “To Texas with Love” Houston flood-relief project.
