Messe Frankfurt, an international trade fair, congress and event organizer with its own exhibition grounds in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, recently finalized a deal with the Clean Show Executive Committee (CEC) to purchase the Clean Show, the largest trade fair for linen, uniform and facility services in the Western Hemisphere. As part of the deal, TRSA, the association for the linen, uniform and facility services industry, and its four association partners will maintain their close involvement with the biennial Clean Show.

A group of nearly 30 CEOs and senior executives representing linen, uniform, garment and facility services companies serving the healthcare sector discussed market trends including managing changing customer relationships and expectations, healthcare consolidation, linen utilization and loss, reusables vs. disposables, expanding the market and automation. The TRSA CEO/Executive Roundtable was held prior to TRSA’s 7th Annual Healthcare Conference last week in Charlotte, NC, which attracted nearly 200 healthcare market leaders and suppliers.

Nearly 200 linen, uniform and facility services executives recently gathered outside Charlotte, NC, for TRSA’s 7th Annual Healthcare Conference. The two-day event featured a wealth of education, networking and plant tours specifically designed for healthcare operators and associates.

TRSA’s company awards program providing industrywide recognition of members’ exemplary business practices is becoming more inclusive, providing for multiple winners in each award category and adding an honor for associate members in each. Operator (laundry) and associate (supplier) members are encouraged to review these categories to nominate their companies and industry colleagues for the honors, to be presented at TRSA’s Legislative Conference, scheduled for March 27-28, 2019, in Washington, DC.

“How Clean Is the Linen at My Hospital?”, a study recently published in Clinical Infectious Diseases, validated TRSA’s approach to curbing pathogens on laundered healthcare linens (HCLs). The research acknowledged the value of requiring Hygienically Clean Healthcare certified laundries to routinely test clean linens for microbiological content.

Based on TRSA’s experience as an active participant in the European Textile Services Association (ETSA) National Associations group and as the organization most likely to get engaged in state and federal legislation and regulation, TRSA has taken the lead on coordinating a North American Textile Services Organization (NATSO) to address common issues impacting the linen, uniform and facility services industry. Nearly 15 organizations’ senior staff and elected officials were invited, with the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA), Association for Linen Management (ALM), CSC Network, Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC), International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) and Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA) participating on the initial teleconference.
