UniFirst Plans Grand Opening at New LA-Area Plant


UniFirst Corp. will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 30 to mark the opening of its new 73,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art industrial laundry in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The facility in Los Angeles County has created more than 100 jobs, according to a news release.

Tyler Retires from Encompass; Will Pursue Consulting


Ken Tyler, who over a long career has played leading roles as a combat Marine, an executive overseeing laundries for the U.S. Veterans Administration, and most recently as a vice president of government operations for Encompass Group LLC, recently announced plans to retire from his post with the textile supplier.

Lapauw USA Hires Two Industry Sales Veterans


TRSA associate member Lapauw USA LLC, Park City, UT, recently announced the hiring of two laundry industry veterans, Joseph Amaral and James “J.B.” Marquette. The two new hires each have the title of regional sales director, and are responsible for business development, customer relations and industry advocacy in a variety of industry segments in the Western and Eastern United States, respectively.

Outram Gets Promoted at Kannegiesser ETECH


TRSA associate member Kannegiesser ETECH, Minneapolis, recently announced that Kelly Outram has been promoted to regional sales manager for the Western United States. Outram, a 32-year veteran of the laundry industry, has spent the previous eight years with Kannegiesser ETECH in the southeast region.

Doro Wins Compensation Survey Gift Card


Jim Doro, president of Doritex, Alden, NY, recently was named as the winner of a $250 gift card when his name was chosen in a random drawing of respondents who completed TRSA’s annual survey of pay data that will be compiled in TRSA’s 2018 Plant Employee Compensation Report. TRSA published the latest edition of the Compensation Report late last year.
