Marc Kane recently retired after 37 years as a route service representative (RSR) for CITY Laundering Co., Oelwein, IA. Kane started with CITY on Sept. 7, 1982, and serviced clients in Hiawatha, Marion and the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, regions, according to a news release.

U of MI Healthcare Laundry Signs onto Detroit Co-Op

The University of Michigan’s Board of Regents recently approved a new multimillion bus center on a location now occupied by the UM laundry Building. That move has necessitated a shutdown of the laundry. As an alternative, university officials have decided to team up with a healthcare co-op laundry in Detroit to process 11 million lbs. of textiles from the Michigan Medicine center, according to news reports.

Safety Summit: Certification, Ergonomics, Hazard Prevention and More

The event featured presentations, breakout sessions and roundtable discussions on topics such as electrical safety, ergonomics, hazard prevention, risk management, workplace violence and more.
