A group of TRSA member military veterans got a rare treat during the Clean Show in New Orleans with an address by Ronnie Abboud, a Word War II veteran and “Big Easy” native who spoke about the National World War II Museum in New Orleans and its treasure trove of stories and artifacts related to the fight to save the world from tyranny in the 1940s.

Clean Show 2019 came to a close on June 23 after four days of exhibitions, education and networking designed for professionals in the linen, uniform and facility services industry. Registrations for the 2019 edition of the show totaled 11,108, with 224,500 net square feet of trade show floor space, a sellout for the second consecutive show.

ITSA to Host World Textile Services Congress in 2020

The International Textile Services Alliance (ITSA), a global community of national and regional linen, workwear and textile services associations, will host the World Textile Services Congress (WTSC) on June 18-19, 2020, in Frankfurt, Germany, prior to Texcare International. The WTSC will build on the success and momentum of WTSC 2016 held in Bruges, Belgium, which attracted nearly 200 linen, uniform and facility services professionals from around the globe.

Alsco’s Las Vegas Branch Helps Feed Homeless Veterans

Tourick Named Chief People Officer at CLEAN

CLEAN, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, recently named Myra Tourick as the company’s chief people officer. Tourick has been appointed to the role permanently following two months as interim chief people officer and will be responsible for leading the development of CLEAN’s 1,450-strong workforce. She also will help devise people and development strategies, as well as create an overall HR vision for the company.

ARCO/Murray Starts Work on New Laundry for Montana Linen

ARCO/Murray, Downers Grove, IL, recently broke ground on a new 41,400-square-foot laundry build-to-suit for Montana Linen in Belgrade, MT. Construction began in late May and will finish in December. The new facility will provide additional capacity to support Montana Linen’s rapid growth as they continue to serve local and regional customers in the food-and-beverage, hospitality, industrial and healthcare markets, according to a news release.

Prudential Receives VPP STAR in Mesa, AZ

The Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) Consultation Department presented Prudential Overall Supply, with its “STAR Site” designation through the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) on June 12. Companies and job sites that are awarded the STAR designation demonstrate exemplary and comprehensive safety and health management systems, according to a news release.
