Maintenance Manager Job Analysis Task Force Meets in Chicago

The linen, uniform and facility services industry’s chief maintenance executives, associates and owner/operators recently met in Chicago for two days to develop a baseline for creating a Maintenance Manager Certification Program. Culled from Maintenance Management Institute (MMI) faculty and graduates, the Maintenance Manager Job Analysis Advisory Task Force will oversee the analysis of linen and uniform services maintenance managers serving as subject-matter experts (SME) to assist the consulting firm of PSI to identify and gather resources, develop surveys and guide the overall process of documenting the maintenance manager’s roles, responsibilities, skills, tasks and knowledge.

TSA-UK Hosts ETSA National Associations Meeting in London

The European Textile Services Association (ETSA) hosted its National Associations meeting in London earlier this week with more than a dozen association executives representing the linen, uniform and facility services industry throughout Europe and North America. Participating organizations included Belgium (FBT), Denmark (BVT), Finland (Tekstiilihuoltoliitto), France (Geist), Germany (DTV), Italy (Assosistema), Sweden (Sveriges Tvätteriförbund), Switzerland (VTS), United Kingdom (TSA) and North America (TRSA). Hosted by the Textile Services Association (TSA-UK) and facilitated by ETSA Secretariat Robert Long, National Association delegates discussed their respective new initiatives and potential collaborative projects focused on promoting the industry to customers, regulators and potential employees, standards development, and training and research.

Cintas to Cease Processing at Granby, Quebec, Facility

Cintas Corp. recently announced plans to shut down the processing of uniforms, floor mats and other products at its Granby, Quebec, facility by Jan. 2, 2020. The company will continue to provide service to its customers from the facility and has plans to grow the number of service employees, according to a news release.
