On Thursday, July 16, TRSA conducted a Next Generation Zoom meeting with nearly 20 next-generation industry leaders from laundry operators and supplier partners. The group, which meets bi-annually with a rotating participation of nearly 40 individuals, shared operational information, best practices and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic shutdown.
Despite the recent downturn in hotel traffic related to COVID-19, Magic Laundry Services (MLS) recently announced plans for the latest expansion of its hotel linen operations in Southern California. Specifically, MLS is growing beyond its three-plant base in the same Los Angeles (Montebello) neighborhood with the purchase of a new location in the “Inland Empire,” the metro area east of Los Angeles. MLS’s fourth production facility will encompass 60,000 square feet on 2.5 acres in San Bernardino.

TRSA has formed a Middle East chapter, the association’s first outside the United States. Launched with Dubai-based TRSA member Rent-A-Towel (RNT), the chapter’s initial activities will include certifying laundries to the Hygienically Clean standard and developing professional-development programs for managers and supervisors customized to the region’s local market, practices and conditions.
