The World Textile Services Congress 2020 (WTSC) will provide a unique global forum for linen, workwear, uniform and facility services executives. The event will be held on June 18-19 in Frankfurt, Germany, so delegates can combine WTSC with attending Texcare International, scheduled for June 20-24.

TRSA’s selection of its first-ever Best Plants of the Year award reveres linen and uniform service sustainability, honoring operations founded more than 100 years apart for contemporary best practices that reflect their dedication to efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The TRSA European (Germany) Laundry Tour provides a logical next step for those attending the 2020 World Textile Services Congress and Texcare International trade fair in Frankfurt this June. The limited-capacity tour (open to the first 35 registrants) will visit state-of-the-art laundries and processing plants over a five-day period. Pricing is inclusive, covering tours, most meals, lodging and motor coach transportation from Frankfurt to Berlin.

Roughly 100 laundry operators and suppliers turned out for an in-depth educational and networking experience as part of TRSA’s inaugural Food and Beverage (F&B) Conference on Feb. 5-6 at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas.

HLS Linen Services recently affirmed their commitment to environmental stewardship by achieving TRSA’s Clean Green Certification. HLS Linen provides linen and laundry service to acute care hospitals, long term care, rehabilitation centers and mental health facilities throughout many regions of Ontario, including Ottawa, Kingstone, Belleville and Toronto, as well as in Western Quebec.

Two TRSA member linen and uniform service operators and two associates (industry suppliers) are winners of the 2020 TRSA Above and Beyond Service Awards. This accolade acknowledges both rare efforts outside the normal course of business, such as addressing a customer emergency or pressing need. More often, such acts are part of the normal course, but are especially responsive, empathetic or pleasantly surprising to customers, setting a higher standard for others to follow.

Starting this month, Alsco’s route sales representatives (RSRs) will have a brand-new and safer look. With Alsco representatives in and out of their vehicles near traffic zones every day visiting the company’s 350,000 customers, their safety is the company’s top concern, according to a news release.

Penn Emblem recently announced the promotion of Robert Cholodofsky as the company’s vice president of information technology. Cholodofsky has served as Penn Emblem’s director of information technology for the past 3.5 years, planning, managing and implementing strategic projects and initiatives as directed by senior management, according to a news release.

Girbau recently appointed Serge Joris as its president. Joris’ professional career spans more than 25 years working in critical roles at global companies in the technology and industry sectors, according to a news release.
