TRSA recently hosted a webinar that updated its members on the association’s advocacy efforts to raise the priority level of the linen, uniform and facility services industry to receive COVID vaccines. The hour-long presentation, titled “TRSA’s Vaccine Efforts & Industry Update” also provided information on the stimulus package that was signed into law by President Donald J. Trump (R) on Dec. 27, 2020.

Linen King, a Tulsa, OK-based provider of healthcare laundry services in the south and central U.S., recently added Chris Corcoran to its senior leadership team. Corcoran will serve as the company’s COO, according to a news release.

Standard Textile, Cincinnati, and Cleveland Clinic will collaborate to produce a nonmedical grade, reusable face mask that is designed for comfort and customization. Standard Textile will sell the face masks on its consumer website, according to a news release.

TRSA offices will remain closed on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday commemoration.

Elena Lai, the recently named secretary general of the European Textile Services Association (ETSA), says she’s eager to work with laundry operators, suppliers and industry trade groups across Europe and North America in order to advance solutions to challenges, including COVID-19 relief/rebuilding, healthcare textile supply chains, advancing a pro-environmental “circular” economy, promoting equal opportunity in a diverse industry and more.

Penn Emblem Co., Trevose, PA, recently announced a new partnership built around inclusivity in the workplace, specifically targeting people with disabilities. In November 2020, the company solidified its work with James Emmett & Co., a team of disability consultants that supports companies in launching relationships with local disability employment vendors and helps build the internal capacity to recruit, hire, train and retain employees with disabilities, according to a news release.
