TRSA staff continues their Reopening Tour with a Northeast U.S. segment from Nov. 1-5, motoring from the association’s Alexandria, VA, headquarters as far north as New Hampshire. The 700 road miles will extend the 2021 effort to meet members nationwide to more than 6,000 miles, encountering more than 70 member companies and 80 business locations.

Alsco Presents Award to Winner of ‘Vax to the Future’

TRSA operator member Alsco Uniforms recently presented an employee at its Jacksonville, FL, facility with a $10,000 award for participating in the company’s “Vax to the Future” campaign to encourage employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The award ceremony was captured by the local CBS affiliate.

Ricci Presents Industry Insights to Global Audience

TRSA President and CEO Joseph Ricci, CAE, recently briefed the Board of Directors of the South Pacific Laundry (SPL) on the linen, uniform and facility services industry’s recovery. The discussion focused on struggles with labor shortages and supply chain issues, as well as compliance with vaccine mandates. He also discussed opportunities such as growth in reusable items including reusable gowns, gloves and hand sanitizer created by a heightened emphasis on hygiene and environmental and supply chain sustainability.

TRSA’s Marketing & Sales Committee rated these submissions for effectiveness in fulfilling their intended purpose, whether purely informative, such as showcasing a company or its employees or products or services; or technical: describing capabilities, processes or product features, such as training for customers.

New Publication Reflects Impact of Pandemic on the Industry

TRSA’s recently released Industry Performance Report enables linen, uniform and facility services operators to compare the industrywide financial impacts of COVID-19 with their own companies’ results. Using 2020 financial data collected from TRSA members on a confidential basis and compiled by the Mackay Research Group of Boulder, CO, the report is the only industrywide research that enables operators to compare income statements, balance sheets, and financial and employee productivity ratios.
