Leonard Reino, 83, recently passed away at home in Sandusky County’s (OH) Madison Township, according to news reports. Reino expanded his family’s dry-cleaning business into a commercial laundry serving hospitals and healthcare facilities across Ohio, from Toledo to Cincinnati, as well as southeast Michigan.
While earlier top-down efforts to encourage the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) to implement laundry outsourcing fell short, the good news is that in the 15 years since the last major advocacy effort in this area, today’s less-centralized VA has seen veterans’ hospitals from California to Maryland opt out of on-premise laundries (OPLs) in favor of outsourced services.

UniFirst Corp. recently inked a three-year sponsorship agreement with Kraft Sports + Entertainment. The deal names the Wilmington, MA-based linen, uniform and facility services company as the “Official Uniform Supply Company” of the New England Patriots, according to a news release.
