While California’s impending electric vehicle mandates accounted for much discussion at the TRSA Fleet Summit, May 9-10, Long Beach, CA, participants in that event also were part of the TRSA Town Hall there. This afternoon meeting consisted of a review of the industry’s current legislative and regulatory priorities as well as a discussion of how TRSA can plan future industrywide networking and information-sharing opportunities.

TRSA conducted its first-ever Fleet Summit May 9-10 in Long Beach, CA, alongside the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, where fleet operators from a wide variety of industries reviewed the latest zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) and associated technologies. There’s heavy pressure on such operators in California, where mandates go into effect in three years. No matter where you operate, however, this pressure is building, and in the U.S., the federal Clean Air Act (CAA) is bringing the heat.

Aramark to Spin-Off Uniform Services Business

Aramark recently announced its plan to separate Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) into an independent, publicly traded company. The structure of the transaction is intended to be a spin-off that is tax-free to Aramark and its stockholders.
