“I’m not done yet,” declared Michael Benstock in his acceptance of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD). Observers of such an honor might view it as an indication that these winners can cap their careers. For Benstock, CEO of Superior Group of Companies (NAUMD and TRSA member), born in 1956, passing age 65 was no milestone. He strongly indicated to the audience at NAUMD’s recent 2022 Convention in Reston, VA, that he doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon.
Bernard (Bernie) Ehrlich, 95, the founder of TRSA’s leading educational program, the Executive Management Institute (EMI), passed away on May 18 due to an illness. Ehrlich’s career spanned 42 years of leadership in the linen, uniform and facility services industry. He had a unique impact on generations of laundry operators who served under his tutelage.
Textile Services Weekly recently interviewed Andreas Holzer, managing director of Bardusch GmbH, Kusnacht, Germany, about trends in sustainability and how European operators are dealing with the aftermath of COVID-19. Holzer, whose company is a TRSA member, also serves as the elected chairman of the European Textile Services Association (ETSA). Excerpts of our discussion follow.
