Following their recent acquisition of Premier Mop & Broom in California, Golden Star Inc., Lenexa, KS, recently acquired two additional mop-manufacturing companies. Effective immediately, Golden Star will assume all account information, manufacturing and order-fulfillment responsibilities for these two companies, according to a news release.

TRSA Advises House Committee on Reusable Healthcare Textiles

House Energy and Commerce Committee Members Reps. Richard Hudson (R-NC) and Anna Eshoo (D-CA) recently released a Request for Information (RFI) in preparation of the upcoming Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) reauthorization due by Sept. 30. After shortages in supply at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, TRSA has led the effort to make reusable isolation gowns and other textiles more prominent in hospital inventories under PAHPA and provided the committee with information supporting this position.

WATS/TRSA Moves Legislation with Capitol Visits

The Wisconsin Association of Textile Services (WATS), along with TRSA, recently conducted a Wisconsin Legislative Conference to build support for legislation that would allow the linen, uniform and facility services industry to be recognized as a recycler and manufacturer.  During the Capitol visits, the delegation met with targeted Wisconsin state legislators such as Sens. Devin Lemahieu and Rob Hutton, and Reps. David Murray and Dave Maxey.
