Four TRSA member companies, also members of the European Textile Services Association (ETSA), were recognized with top prizes or nominations in the inaugural ETSA Awards competition in a May ceremony in Rome.

O’Neil Named TRSA Operator Lifetime Achievement Award Winner


The Executive Committee of TRSA’s Board of Directors recently voted to honor Brian O’Neil, president of California Linen Services, Pasadena, CA, with the association’s highest honor, the TRSA Operator Lifetime Achievement Award. O’Neil will receive the award on Sept. 15 at TRSA’s Annual Awards Dinner held in conjunction with its Annual Conference in Nashville, TN.

Recognition of Benstock Leads NAUMD’s TRSA Honorees


“I’m not done yet,” declared Michael Benstock in his acceptance of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD). Observers of such an honor might view it as an indication that these winners can cap their careers. For Benstock, CEO of Superior Group of Companies (NAUMD and TRSA member), born in 1956, passing age 65 was no milestone. He strongly indicated to the audience at NAUMD’s recent 2022 Convention in Reston, VA, that he doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon.

Standard Textile Recognized as a U.S. Best Managed Company


Standard Textile recently was selected as a 2022 U.S. Best Managed Company. Sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, the program recognizes outstanding U.S. private companies and the achievements of their management teams, according to a news release.

Roscoe Centennial – ‘Teamwork Makes the Dream Work’


The Roscoe Co., a Chicago-based independent industrial launderer, formally marked its centennial on April 16 with a dinner program at the Drake Hotel downtown. The celebration – delayed by COVID-19 concerns – highlighted the family-owned company’s roots in the North Lawndale community on the city’s west side, which has faced social and economic challenges in recent decades.

Industry Leaders Gather at Legislative Conference to Set Priorities


TRSA recently concluded its 12th Annual Legislative Conference in Alexandria, VA, with industry executives presenting a unified message on key legislative and regulatory priorities impacting the linen, uniform and facility services industry. The action-packed conference, which took place from March 29-31, featured committee meetings, facilitated discussions for supplier partners and next-generation executives, a keynote presentation by a noted Washington journalist, an awards ceremony for top companies and executives, and meetings with legislators on Capitol Hill.

Best of the Industry Honored at Annual Awards Dinner


Nearly 100 attendees gathered for TRSA’s Annual Industry Awards Dinner on March 30 to honor the winners of 40 awards and accolades for association members that went above and beyond the call of duty in 2021-’22. The TRSA Awards Dinner was held in conjunction with the 12th Annual Legislative Conference, which took place March 30-31 at the Westin Alexandria Old Town, Alexandria, VA.

Supplier Partner Workshop to Kick Off Legislative Conference


TRSA is hosting a three-hour supplier-partner-specific session on March 29 that will focus on advocacy issues and policies that impact the supply chain. COVID-19 has hit the industry hard and caused supply chain problems, labor shortages and other strains. As a result, supplier partners are finding themselves having challenging dialogues with clients.
