Albany (NY) Legislative ConferenceMay 21-22, 2018 • Albany, NY
Whether you work in a corporate office, plant or branch, your operation will benefit from your participation in this upcoming event to voice the need for fair, balanced regulation of our industry in New York State. Read the TRSA coverage of recent issues here.
Additional efforts to regulate our industry are bound to extend beyond New York City, where a new permitting law was implemented early last year. It set new requirements for linen, uniform and facility services businesses operating within the city and another for those located outside that deliver into the city. We aim to prevent such additional regulation wherever possible.
Today, two groups are attempting to advance congestion pricing legislation governing companies delivering into the city: Move New York, a coalition of business, civic and labor groups; and Fix New York, a blue-ribbon commission put together by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D). Move New York favors a $25 per-trip charge for truck deliveries and limits on hours when deliveries can take place. The state legislature must approve.
These issues and others have prompted TRSA to schedule visits to the Capitol.
Registration will open shortly. Questions can be directed to TRSA’s Vice President of Government Relations, Kevin Schwalb.
