TRSA Regional Event – New York CityApril 17, 2018 - 2:30pm - 6pm • New York, NY Register
Whether you work in a corporate office, plant or branch, this is your chance to meet industry colleagues from your region and get up to speed on the emerging New York City regulatory landscape regarding laundry permits and delivery restrictions, as TRSA brings its 2018 Regional Event series to Manhattan.
Register today to secure your seat at the April 17 event, which will cover the permitting law initiated last year that licenses and sets standards on our industry and the proposed congestion pricing and hours limits for companies making deliveries in the city.
The permitting law, implemented early last year, provides one set of requirements for laundries operating within the city and another for those located outside but delivering into the city. All are required to tag delivery trucks and carts with a license number. In-city laundries are subject to inspection and vehicles delivering from outside may be inspected. In applying for the permit, all laundries must certify compliance with safety and wage requirements for the jurisdictions in which they operate.
Two groups are attempting to advance congestion pricing legislation governing companies delivering into the city: Move New York, a coalition of business, civic and labor groups; and Fix New York, a blue-ribbon commission put together by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D). Move New York favors a $25 per-trip charge for truck deliveries and limits on hours when deliveries can take place. The state legislature must approve.
A reception follows the discussion on regulations.
Cancellations will not be refunded and cannot be credited to another TRSA program or event.
