It was a big night April 18 in Atlanta for the Design Collective by Cintas, the Cincinnati company’s direct-sale unit, at the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) awards ceremony. The unit took away seven Image of the Year awards, a record for the company. Aramark Uniform Services, Burbank, CA, was the other TRSA member/international uniform service operator receiving this accolade, getting two such awards.

Cintas won in two hotel/lodging categories for its programs for the Conrad Nashville and Renaissance Aruba. The Conrad program features sublimation printing, highlighting Tennessee’s state flower, the blue Iris, on ladies’ scarves, blouses and dresses, as well as bowties and neckties. Fun prints and happy colors are used in the Renaissance program to evoke a carefree, relaxed mindset. A myriad of performance features provide comfort while supporting the work environment.

Other categories Cintas won:

Transportation, Shipping & Delivery, Pepsi Bottling Ventures. The collection includes polos, tees, pants, shorts and outerwear. Fitting the customer, the fabric features Repreve fiber (manufactured by Unifi) made from plastic bottles.

Restaurants, Single Location, Shore House (Hotel Del Coronado, CA). Cintas outfits the hotel’s staff members in jobs spanning from guest arrival and front desk, in addition to this outlet with servers, runners and bartenders. The piece mix is drawn from trusted collaborations and custom designs such as fabrics created specifically for the client.

Retail, Specialty Stores, Verizon. Featured are modern blade polos, black jeans and a black puffer as a layering piece. The blade polo has double faced knit – pique cotton front for a retail-inspired look and smooth performance knit backing with moisture wicking. The Verizon logo is 3D-printed.

Property Management, ADT Sales Team. The program includes shirts, sweaters, tech pants and an outerwear jacket system. Shirting is in their signature blue, complemented with black or gray layering pieces. Space-dyed knit provides moisture wicking. Pants include several pockets and a side hidden zipper pocket.

Cruise Ships, Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection. Infused with European styling and fit, styling is inspired by ships sailed by allied forces in World War I, using a custom fabric. Each garment has some element of a battleship’s “dazzle camouflage,” creating a seamless color story.

Aramark took these honors:

Services, Roadside Assistance, Penske Corp. The program revolves around shirt redesign: brand-centric, in male and female silhouettes. New styles, such as outerwear options, were made available for locations to purchase directly. The line also includes jackets used for employee recognition or anniversaries.

Services, Cleaning, ServiceMaster Restore. Featured are polos (for on-location technicians), woven shirts and oxfords (supervisors and sales personnel), hats, outerwear, pants and T-shirts. All pieces incorporate the ServiceMaster “spotlight” logo and align with the company’s sustainability initiatives.

TRSA supplier partner member winners of NAUMD awards were Penn Emblem Co., Trevose, PA (2) and Workwear Outfitters, Nashville, TN.
