Aramark recently was named a Top 50 Employer by CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine for the sixth consecutive year, for providing a positive working environment for people with disabilities. Aramark employs 280,000 team members across the globe, according to a news release.

“It’s an honor to once again be recognized by CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine for our diversity and inclusion efforts,” said Lynn B. McKee, executive vice president of human resources for Aramark. “As an organization that employs individuals across all abilities, we know that creating a culture that removes barriers, creates understanding, and enables success across the ability spectrum is key to meeting our current and future talent goals.”

The Aramark Thrive employee resource group (ERG) is dedicated to team members who self-identify as having a disability, and for caretakers and advocates of those with disabilities. Through Aramark Thrive, the company is embracing personal connections to advance awareness and inclusion for people with unique challenges, and providing them and their support network with opportunities to share their stories. Aramark Thrive encourages self-identification and transparency, so that employees will take advantage of what Aramark offers, gain support, and/or provide coaching. Thrive members participate in the Eagles Autism Challenge annually, raising funds to assist those currently affected by autism and future generations. Aramark also is a premier partner for the Eagles Autism Challenge.

Additionally, Aramark is a sponsor of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania Athlete Leadership & Unified Champion Schools, supporting athletic leaders both on and off the field, and empowering them to become respected as contributing members of society. This October, Aramark will host the Unified Champion School Youth Summit at its global headquarters in Philadelphia.

The readers of CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine selected the top companies in the country for which they’d most like to work or which they believe would provide a positive working environment for people with disabilities. CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine is the only national career recruitment publication for people with disabilities in the United States.
