Aramark Plans Summer Plant Opening

Aramark Corp. is developing a new commercial laundry in Northern California. It has leased a facility near the Stockton Metropolitan Airport, which is currently under renovation, according to local media reports.

“We are working on plans to open a laundry processing facility this summer that will bring jobs to the area,” says Chris Collom, Aramark director of corporate communications, in an e-mail from corporate offices in Philadelphia.

Although the project is still in development, and specific hiring details are not yet available, Aramark expects to transfer staff from a laundry processing operation located some 200 miles away in Redding, CA. According to local news reports, that transfer will include 40 local jobs at Aramark’s Uniform Services operation, but a number of administrative and distribution employees will remain in Redding.
