Aramark recently named Pete Silva, a former PepsiCo executive, as its vice president of fleet for North America, according to news reports. He took up his new duties in late October.

Previously, Silva served as senior director of procurement for PepsiCo and indirect purchasing for PepsiCo/Frito Lay. He spent 32 years with the company, from 1982-2014, the reports said.

During his tenure at PepsiCo, Silva completed fleet purchasing and contract talks for the entire company, including its Frito Lay, Pepsi Bottlers, Tropicana and Quaker Oats divisions in the U.S. and Canada. His spending exceeded $500 million per year for a fleet of more than 70,000 vehicles.
