TRSA held a California Roundtable in conjunction with the ACT Expo – a trade show highlighting Zero-Emission Vehicles. During the Roundtable, attendees were updated on the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) recently approved Advanced Clean Fleet Rule, which sets a schedule for California companies to transition to zero-emission fleets.

An update was provided by Bradley Northup, public works superintendent – fleet operations, for the city of Carlsbad, CA. Kevin Schwalb, TRSA’s vice president of government relations, provided information and activities regarding California’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Textiles legislation as well as legislation to remove textiles with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from the supply stream.

After the roundtable activities, the group attended the ACT Expo, where they were able to discuss the vehicles that are currently available to the linen, uniform and facility services industry for delivery of goods.
