Capital Textile Service will invest $6 million in a new laundry facility that will employ approximately 50 people, according to Stafford County (VA) Public Information Officer Shannon Howell. Construction on the facility, which will serve the Washington, DC, area, is set to begin this year, according to local media reports.

Capital Textile Service Inc., an affiliate of Virginia Linen Service Inc., Petersburg, VA, recently closed on a 12.8-acre site at Centreport Parkway. Plans call for expanding the operation by constructing a second building and employing an additional 25 people over time, the report noted.

“We believe that the Capital Textile investment is only the beginning of the new industrial projects that will come to this part of Stafford,” said Bob Thomas, chairman of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors. “We continue to make good progress in diversifying our commercial base and growing jobs closer to home.”
