Representatives from the China Healthcare Laundry Association and the Chinese Department of Health recently toured Unitex’s healthcare laundries in New Brunswick, NJ, to learn more about the process, requirements and rigors of the Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification. The group of Chinese laundry operators and government officials also visited TRSA’s office in Alexandria, VA, to discuss details regarding cooperative efforts to launch Hygienically Clean in China and develop training programs that support the growth of the Chinese healthcare laundry sector.

These visits followed previous meetings at the Clean Show in June 2017 and a visit by TRSA Chairman David Potack (Unitex) and TRSA President & CEO Joseph Ricci to China in September 2017 to tour several laundries. In addition to these meetings, there also has been ongoing dialogue about joint-working groups and other initiatives.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with the China Healthcare Laundry Association and the Chinese government to better understand their operational and regulatory environments,” said Chairman Potack. “We are making significant progress toward the launch of Hygienically Clean in China and developing opportunities for information sharing.”

TRSA and the China Healthcare Laundry Association will continue to develop parameters regarding the development, launch and administration of Hygienically Clean Healthcare in China with additional announcements to follow, including reciprocal attendance at the next China Healthcare Laundry Association and TRSA Healthcare Conferences. Both conferences are scheduled to be held in November.
