Cintas Aids 33rd Annual Dayton Coat Drive
Cintas Corp., based in Mason, OH, is participating as an in-kind sponsor of a “Coats For Kids” drive in Dayton, OH, that will provide coats and other cold-weather garments to children and adults in need this winter.
The coat drive, now in its 33rd season, kicked off on Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 7, according to a news release. Sponsored by local TV station WDTN and the CW television network, the drive has collected and distributed nearly half a million coats and other winter items since its inception.
“We’ve collected thousands of coats over the years, but it seems the need is even greater this year,” said Joe Abouzeid, president and general manager of WDTN & Dayton’s CW. “We’re proud to work with our sponsors and partners to do whatever we can to help. No person should go a day without a coat to keep them warm for the cold winter ahead.”
Cintas’ role in the drive is to launder coats donated by members of the community and placed in drop-off barrels at sponsor locations around the metropolitan area, the release said. RUSH Transportation and Logistics then will move the items and WDTN and Dayton’s CW will distribute the goods to children and adults in need throughout the region. Both Cintas and RUSH Transportation are donating their services to the drive.
