Cintas Aids Charlotte Coat Drive
Cintas Corp.’s Charlotte, NC, plant is teaming up with a local TV station, a charitable group and others in that community to provide coats to children in need this winter, according to news reports.
In fact, this year’s “Steve’s Coats for Kids” drive (named for Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson) has exceeded expectations with 21,636 coats donated. That’s more than 1,000 over the number collected last year.
Cintas contributes by cleaning donated coats at no charge. Distribution to children in need is handled by Crisis Assistance Ministry, a local charitable group, while WSOC-TV has led the call for donations and promoted the effort to aid children this winter.
“For a child in need, these aren’t just coats,” said WSOC Community Affairs Manager Kevin Campbell. “A new coat will help keep a kid’s head held high and gives an aspect of dignity to their life.” Click here and here for details.
