Cintas and Google Partner on Garment Technology

Cintas Corp., Mason, OH, recently announced a joint collaboration with Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects Group (ATAP) to explore advancing “Project Jacquard” into the enterprise space. Jacquard is a smart-garment technology developed by Google’s ATAP team, which enables conductive fibers to be woven into textiles, connecting interactive apparel wirelessly to devices, software platforms and cloud services, according to a news release.

ATAP presented advancements in the technology at Google’s recent developers’ conference, Google I/O, the release said. Cintas and ATAP are collaborating to advance use cases in work environments, with the goal of developing Jacquard-enhanced uniforms. The initial focus will be on healthcare and safety applications.
