Victory Media, publisher of GI Jobs® and Military Spouse, recently announced that Cintas Corp. earned the publisher’s “Military Friendly®” designation for 2017.

Launched in 2003, the Military Friendly Employers list is the most comprehensive resource for veterans today, according to a news release. Each year, the list is provided to service members and their families, helping them pursue post-military careers.

Cintas is committed to hiring military talent, the release said. The company realizes that hiring veterans is not only the “right thing to do” but also the right thing in terms of growing its business. “We’re proud to be recognized as a military friendly employer for the 12th consecutive year,” said Matt Disher, Cintas’ military recruiting program manager and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. “Our internal military program dates back to the early ’90s when Cintas founder Dick Farmer (a U.S. Marine veteran) ordered the creation of a program that sourced talent from the ranks of the armed forces. Today, we’ve expanded these recruitment programs to include post-hire development and mentorship, among other things. But the value of utilizing military-experienced men and women is still as important as it was decades ago when the program started.”

Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and chief product officer at Victory Media, said the companies that make the list are exceptional in terms of their outreach efforts to veterans. “Companies that have earned the 2017 Military Friendly Employer designation have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful jobs for transitioning service members, veterans and spouses,” Nichols said. “Our Military Friendly Employers have moved beyond answering ‘Why hire military?’ They are truly aligning their jobs and recruiting efforts with Military Friendly®Schools to translate military competencies into civilian careers.”

Cintas is showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly employers in the December 2016 issue of GI Jobs magazine and the January issue of Military Spouse magazine, the release said. Click here for details.
