Cintas RI Location Provides On-Site Clinic

Cintas Corp.’s Cumberland, RI, uniform rental facility recently opened an on-site clinic, according to local media reports. Open eight hours a week for the plant’s 140 employees, the free clinic is staffed with a nurse practitioner and chiropractor who also are certified wellness coaches.

As a result of its expanding health and wellness program and other safety efforts, the facility received the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification – only the fifth Rhode Island company to earn the safety distinction. According to Cintas, the company’s incident rates are nearly 200% lower than industry standards.

Cintas also offers its employee-partners daily stretching routines, along with nutrition and hydrating stations throughout the building, to help make the workplace healthier and safer. 

“We have many folks who are living better lifestyles,” said Jill Lambert, human resources manager at Cintas. “They are much more aware of where they are, where they need to be and are much more willing to take the next step.”
