CITY Enters Healthcare Market After Acquisition
CITY Laundering Co., Oelwein, IA, recently announced that it has acquired Lake Superior Laundry, Superior, WI. This acquisition expands CITY’s offerings, creating a new full-service healthcare division, according to a news release.
“We have been very careful on selecting the right partner to launch into the healthcare market, and are excited to have found the right fit,” said Colin Wetlaufer, president of CITY. “Since the beginning, working with Betsy (Blaufuss, Owner of Lake Superior Laundry) and her team has been great and helped to create fantastic synergy between our cultures.”
With the acquisition of the Lake Superior Laundry facilities, CITY now has seven locations servicing Iowa, Minnesota, Eastern Nebraska and South Dakota, and Western Wisconsin. CITY will continue to operate both of the Lake Superior Laundry healthcare plants, which are located in Superior, WI; and Pine City, MN.
“This partnership has been a crucial next step in investing in our services in the region,” Wetlaufer said. “We have already begun to invest in the newly acquired facilities to expand and improve our ability to service customers in the region and are excited for what is to come.”
Currently celebrating 116 years in business, CITY is a fourth-generation family-owned-and-operated company. According to Wetlaufer, CITY is proud to welcome all of Lake Superior Laundry’s employees and customers into the family business.
“Throughout the entire process, CITY has been amazing to work with and very professional,” Blaufuss said. “I have full confidence in CITY Laundering to take great care of our employees and our customers. With CITY, there are a lot of new possibilities and great things to look forward to in the future. I am very excited about the future, and I am so happy we found CITY and were able to make this partnership happen.”
